Ariana – More Thoughts On Yesterday’s Surprise Move

I’ve been chewing over the announcement yesterday by AIM-listed Ariana Resources (AAU) which is to takeover Rockover Holdings, the owner of the Dowke Gold project in Zimbabwe. There are a few salient points here.

Ariana – Surprise!

AIM-listed Ariana Resources (AAU) offered up a big surprise this morning – it is to buy Rockover, the owner of the Gold mine in Zimbabwe that Ariana already had a small hand in already. Generally I don’t like surprises and was somewhat taken aback by the news.

The View From The Montana Log-Cabin As “Mr Slammy” Hits Gold Before Iran Strikes Israel

Gold closed the week at $2,344 – another new all-time weekly high, up from last week’s 2,330, but having peaked yesterday at around $2,430 it was a bit of a disappointment for Gold bulls. After the peak in December, out favourite technical analyst, Jordan Roy-Byrne of TheDailyGold.com commented that “Mr Slammy” had come into play, crunching the yellow metal price back down again. On Friday he paid another visit…..and then Iran launched an attack on Israel.

BSF Enterprises – Frankenstein Leather, “No Current Plans For A Fundraise”.....Yeah, RIght, the annual report was a lie then?

Sub-Standard Listed BSF Enterprises (BSFA) has announced progress on its new ruse, Frankenstein Leather in that it has managed to produce a piece of bio-engineered leather measuring ten centimetres square and 0.5-1 millimetres thick. Clearly it is looking for world domination in the world of bio-engineered glasses cleaners for Islington eco-twits.

Atalaya Mining - £4 Short-Term Tip Target Achieved: What To Do Now?

Back on 3rd December, a Sunday, I suggested that AIM-listed Atalaya Mining (ATYM) was worth a flutter for a re-rate to come. The shares had closed the previous Friday at 327p and opened on the Monday at 332p. My thinking was that with the company planning to move to the main market and changing its domicile as part of the process, allowing trackers to take a position as it surely headed for the FTSE250, it would create additional buying pressure which would move the shares northwards.

The View From The Montana Log-Cabin: “The (Gold) Bull Market Is Here, People – It’s Time To Make Money”

After another strong week, Gold closed at yet another record high – now $2,330, well up on last week’s $2,233. Silver smashed through strong resistance at $26 (now $27.44) and, as can be seen on the chart below of Gold vs the mining ETFs GDX (majors), GDXJ (juniors) and GOEX (explorers), they too had another good week and my Gold mining portfolio is looking far healthier than it has for a long time. That, after a week during which the US reported far stronger jobs than expected and US Treasury yields headed north (which should have stalled things somewhat), suggesting that precious metals have, for now, decoupled from everything else.
